As an integrative counselor, Maryfer’s therapeutic style uses a psychodynamic, humanistic and person-centered approach. She uses techniques from strength-based, CBT, DBT, and motivational based therapy. Using a holistic and trauma-informed lens, Maryfer aims to guide individuals in exploring interpersonal relationships, personal or systemic trauma, anxiety, depression and PTSD. 

Maryfer meets clients with empathy, curiosity, and unconditional positive regard in order to guide and support clients in meeting each individual’s unique needs. She works to explore intersectionality in order to promote diversity and the exploration of identity. Maryfer aims to assist individuals in meeting their goals, supporting empowerment and acceptance, processing experiences, and increasing awareness of the self.

Maryfer is a graduate of New York University’s Master’s Program in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness. She has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from New York University, which emphasizes evidence-based theories.
